Formerly Hopefill Foundation — established 20 September 2023, rebranded January 2026. Our vision: A future for every dream — because no dream should fade away without a chance.
Allan Ndata Wangechi is the Founder and Executive Director of Caritas of Hope Foundation, formerly Hopefill Foundation. He established the organisation on 20 September 2023 as a focused mental health initiative, responding to a clear and urgent need within Kenyan communities for psychosocial support and improved access to care.
Through strategic expansion in 2025 and institutional rebranding in January 2026, Allan led the transformation from a single-sector mental health foundation into a structured, multi-sector development organisation committed to advancing health, education, humanitarian support, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability. His conviction that sustainable transformation requires a broader, integrated approach continues to guide the Foundation's 2026–2030 strategic framework.
"Because no dream should fade away without a chance. Our slogan is more than a statement — it is a call to action. It challenges us to create systems where opportunity is accessible, dignity is protected, and hope is sustained."
— Allan Ndata Wangechi, Founder & Executive Director
Judith Terer serves as Deputy Executive Director of Caritas of Hope Foundation during a transformative period in the organisation's institutional journey. From the Foundation's founding in 2023 to its strategic expansion and rebranding in 2026, Judith has been central to the evolution of the organisation into a structured, multi-sector institution committed to delivering measurable and sustainable community impact.
As Deputy Executive Director, her focus remains on strengthening institutional systems, enhancing operational coordination across thematic programmes, and ensuring that the Foundation's strategic objectives are translated into tangible outcomes. She champions discipline in governance, excellence in programme implementation, and accountability in resource management — continuously refining internal structures and strengthening partnerships to ensure every initiative reflects professionalism and integrity.
Judith places community participation at the centre of the Foundation's approach. She believes transformation is most effective when local voices are engaged in planning, implementation, and evaluation — fostering inclusive platforms and equitable representation to strengthen long-term resilience within the communities the Foundation serves.
"Together, we continue building a future where no dream fades without a chance. Consolidating institutional maturity, scaling responsibly, and deepening measurable impact while safeguarding the dignity and aspirations of those we serve — that is our commitment."

Caritas of Hope Foundation
From a vision for dignified communities to a structured multi-thematic NGO — our journey.
Allan Ndata Wangechi establishes Hopefill Foundation as a dedicated mental health institution responding to the growing demand for psychosocial support and visible service gaps in Kenyan communities.
Following strategic review, the Foundation expands beyond standalone mental health programming into five integrated objectives: Health, Education, Humanitarian Aid, Inclusivity & Diversity, and Environmental Sustainability.
The Executive Director formalises a programmatic structuring model: Caritas Health Initiative, Caritas Education & Empowerment Program, Caritas Humanitarian Aid Network, and Caritas Environmental Sustainability Program are established as specialised thematic agencies.
The organisation formally adopts the name Caritas of Hope Foundation, transitioning from Hopefill Foundation to reflect institutional maturity, expanded multi-sector programming, and strengthened long-term strategic positioning.
The Foundation launches its 2026–2030 Strategic Framework: strengthening governance, scaling health and education programmes, deepening humanitarian preparedness, embedding inclusivity, and integrating environmental sustainability across all community development work.
To empower communities through integrated health support and awareness, education advancement, humanitarian outreach, and inclusive development programmes that promote long-term resilience and sustainable transformation.
A future for every dream.
"Because no dream should fade away without a chance." — We are committed to building resilient communities where barriers to health, education, dignity, and sustainable development are systematically addressed, and where potential is not limited by circumstance.
Seven principles guide all governance, programme design, and service delivery:
An 8-member Board of Directors providing focused, expert oversight across all five thematic areas — built for accountability and agility.
The Board is organised into five thematic sub-boards, each comprising five members with specialist expertise. Sub-board chairs sit on the full Board ensuring integrated oversight across all programmes.
Passionate, experienced, and driven — our leadership team brings together expertise across Kenya's development sector.
Join Kenyans committed to building dignified, sustainable communities.
Five interconnected programme areas — each addressing a critical dimension of community wellbeing.
Access to quality healthcare remains one of the most critical barriers to human development in Kenya's informal settlements. Our Health pillar bridges the gap through outreach, education, clinic partnerships, and targeted maternal and child health programmes.
We believe health is a human right, not a privilege. Our programmes reach the most vulnerable — women, children, elderly, and persons with chronic illness — where formal health infrastructure is weakest.
Antenatal care support, safe delivery resources, and newborn health education for mothers in underserved areas.
Mobile health camps, free screenings, and preventive care delivered directly to informal settlements.
HIV/AIDS awareness, malaria prevention, TB education, and immunisation drives aligned with Kenya's national health strategy.
Community-based MHFA certification with a 70-module curriculum contextualised for Kenyan settings.
70-module community-facing certification course covering crisis response, psychosocial first aid, and community referral pathways.
Antenatal care, safe birth kits, and postnatal follow-up across Kibera, Mathare, and Mukuru.
Quarterly health screening camps offering blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, eye, and dental checks. Medical volunteer recruitment underway.
Curriculum-linked health education covering hygiene, nutrition, puberty, and mental wellness for ages 8–15. Curriculum development in progress.
"When a mother in an informal settlement gets access to a safe birth kit and a nurse who speaks her language, the entire trajectory of that family changes."— Caritas of Hope Foundation, Health Pillar Vision Statement
Your donation funds health camps, maternal care kits, and mental health training in Nairobi's communities.
Education is the single most powerful lever for generational change. Our Education pillar removes financial, material, and structural barriers preventing Kenya's most vulnerable children and youth from accessing quality learning — from early childhood through university.
Through the Bright Future Scholarship Programme, Uniforms of Hope Initiative, and growing digital literacy projects, we build an ecosystem of educational opportunity anchored in dignity and aspiration.
Four-tier programme (Diamond, Gold, Silver, Bronze) pairing donors with students across all education levels.
Provision of school uniforms to children in informal settlements — removing a key barrier to daily attendance.
Computer access, coding basics, and internet literacy for children in areas with limited technology exposure.
Classroom rehabilitation, library stocking, WASH facilities, and learning materials provision.
Four-tier donor-student scholarship scheme targeting 500+ students. Diamond (University), Gold (Secondary), Silver (Primary), Bronze (ECD). Target: KSh 94.4M annually.
School uniform provision combined with a vocational sewing and garment training centre for 50 young women. Phase 1 pilot — 6 months.

A just society is one in which every person — regardless of gender, disability, age, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background — can participate fully and equally. Our Inclusivity pillar champions the rights and voices of those most marginalised, building programmes that remove barriers and amplify agency.
Girls' education advocacy, women's economic empowerment, and campaigns against gender-based violence.
Ensuring all Foundation programmes are disability-inclusive by design — accessible venues, adapted materials.
